Assign Molecular Weight Marker Warning

Some problems that can occur during molecular weight (MW) estimation will cause caution symbols () to be shown on the Assign MW marker page to help you identify and address the problem.

Unused Band Boxes

Empiria Studio will warn you if there are unused MW band boxes on a MW marker lane by displaying a message above the image on the Assign MW marker page.

Caution: Remove unused band boxes.

Steps that cause the problem

1. In an Experiment workflow, advance through the steps to the Assign MW marker page.

2. On the Assign MW marker page, choose a MW marker that has N bands.

3. Place N band boxes on the MW marker lane.

4. Switch to a new MW Marker that has N - 1 bands.

5. A warning will be shown above the image to indicate that more band boxes have been placed on the marker lane than there are bands in the selected MW marker.

Solution

1. Select a band box that you want to remove.

2. Click the Delete button, or press the Delete key on your keyboard.
